Privacy Policy

MianBiwi (“MianBiwi,” “we,” “us”) is a private companion app for couples. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, how it is protected, and the choices you have. We built MianBiwi privacy-first: you decide what to share, and you share it only with your own spouse — never with us for advertising, and never with anyone else.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your name and email address. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive your name and an email address from Apple — which may be an Apple private-relay address if you choose to hide your real one. We never receive your Apple password.
Content you and your spouse create. The app stores the content you enter so it can be shared between the two of you: requests and messages (Farmaish), tasks (Kaam), budgets and expenses (Hisaab), calendar events, savings goals (Apna Ghar), assets and liabilities, family-circle records (Khaandaan), profile details, and any photos you choose to attach.
Apple Health data. If you grant permission, the app reads selected metrics from Apple Health — steps, sleep, active energy, and weight — so you can view them and, if you choose, share a given day’s summary with your spouse. Health data is read on a per-day basis, is shared only when you turn on the share toggle, and is never used for advertising or sold to anyone.
Contacts. When you add a family circle in Khaandaan, you may pick one contact as the “head of family” using the system contact picker. Only the name and phone number of the single contact you select are copied into the app as plain text. We do not read, sync, or upload your address book.
Photos. When you attach a photo, only the specific image you select is uploaded. We do not access your photo library otherwise.
Device & technical data. To deliver push notifications we store a push-notification token for your device. We also keep minimal technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.
Support & in-app feedback. When you submit a message through the website’s contact form or the in-app “Send feedback” screen, we store your name (or account email), your message, the app version and platform, and the time of submission. We use these messages only to reply to you and to improve the app. They are readable only by the MianBiwi team and are never shared with advertisers or sold.
MianBiwi contains no advertising and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
How we use information
We use the information above only to:
• provide the app’s features to you and your spouse;
• sync content between the two paired devices in your couple;
• send notifications you have enabled (for example, a new request or a calendar reminder);
• operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
How information is shared
With your spouse. Content is visible to the spouse you are paired with, according to your settings. Health data is visible to your spouse only for the days you explicitly share. Assets and liabilities are visible to your spouse only for rows you mark visible. Until you pair, your data is visible to no one but you.
We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising. We share data only with the service providers below, strictly to run the app, and when required by law.
Service providers. We use Supabase for database, file storage, and authentication hosting; Apple for Sign in with Apple and for delivering push notifications via the Apple Push Notification service; and Expo’s push service to route notifications. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy obligations.
Apple Health data
Health information obtained through Apple HealthKit is handled in accordance with Apple’s requirements. We do not use HealthKit data for marketing or advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not disclose it to third parties except the service providers needed to store and sync it for you. You can revoke the app’s access to Health data at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Data storage & security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Each couple’s data is isolated at the database level so one couple can never access another’s information. On your device, your login session is held in the iOS Keychain, and you can enable a Face ID / Touch ID lock for the app. Biometric authentication is performed by iOS — your biometric data never leaves your device and is never sent to us.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account from within the app or by contacting us at the address below. Deleting your account removes your personal data and the content you created. If you are paired, content that is inherently joint may remain visible to your spouse; shared records belong to the couple. We may retain limited information where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Children
MianBiwi is intended for adults managing a household together. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices & rights
You can edit or delete your content in the app, control what you share with your spouse, revoke Health or Contacts permissions in iOS Settings, turn notifications off, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data — contact us to exercise them.
International users
MianBiwi is operated from Doha, Qatar, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the service providers listed above. By using the app you consent to this processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email.
